Start by launching Slack. You can do this by clicking the icon in the taskbar. It is a white icon with a black # symbol as shown in this picture:
Or you can find it in the Start menu
When clicked, Slack will connect.
If you are asked for login details, please email support@strawberry7.com
Once connected, you will see a list of various channels on the left.
To message a class, simply click on the class name and type a message in the bottom box.
You can alert a particular staff member by typing @ and then typing their name.
On the left near the bottom, you will also notice a list of staff names. You can click here to message a particular staff member directly.
There is an emergency channel for any emergencies that require the office attention.
It is a good idea to mute any channels other than your class. This will ensure that your notifications are relevant to you and you are not being notified about every classes alerts. To do this
- Go to any class that is not yours by clicking it.
- Click the gear icon near the top of the window.
- Click 'Mute'
You can also set up slack on your mobile device if you wish. To do this just search for the Slack app on your relevant app store (Apple app store, Google Play, etc) and download it. Once this is done, email support@strawberry7.com for your login details and these can be entered into the app.
